On July 1, 2013, in Huntington, New Jersey, Dialight announced the sale of new industrial LED lamps that were specially designed for use in harsh environments. The lamps of the DuroSite® LED Conveyor series are perfectly suitable for industrial types where the areas that need to be illuminated stretch for kilometers, which makes them incredibly expensive to maintain and operate.
The lamps have a luminous flux stability coefficient of more than 90% for more than 100,000 hours of operation. This indicator significantly exceeds other solutions in the field of lighting. The wide angle of the optical image allows you to optimize the propagation of the light flux, avoiding unnecessary spots, glare and scattering.
The robust design allows LED lamps to withstand constant shocks and vibrations, typical, for example, for the mining industry, unlike gas-discharge lamps, which require constant maintenance and repair in such conditions. The IP66 degree of protection allows the lamps to be resistant to water and dirt, optimizing long-term operation. Another advantage for the mining industry may be the possibility of instant switching on, which avoids the long start-up characteristic of gas-discharge lamps.
The lamps of the DuroSite® LED Conveyor series are produced with two different capacities: 35 W and 60 W. Thus, a lamp with a power of 35 W replaces a traditional gas-discharge lamp (HID) with a power of 70 W, installed at a height of 9 meters, while the 60 W version allows installation at a height of 12 meters, providing similar characteristics and the same level of illumination.
The manufacturer has expanded the range of permissible operating temperatures from -40°C to +65°C, which significantly exceeds the indicators of competitive offers. These characteristics allow the use of DuroSite® LED Conveyor series lamps in extreme conditions.
