NIVOCAP CK Level Alarms

Unlike conventional devices of the capacitive measuring principle, the new generation devices of the NIVOCAP CK series operate in the RF (radio frequency range) ~ 130 kHz. The main advantage of this method is that it is less sensitive to the adhesion of the measured material, thanks to which the NIVOCAP CK level detectors are perfectly suitable for use in silos with sticky and adhesive media, where vibration or other measurement methods can work in a limited mode.

The device is designed so that as long as the probe is freely in the air (i.e. the measured substance does not reach the converter), the minimum capacitance of the measuring and reference sensor is constant (er=1), compared to the body of the device. When the measured substance "reaches" the converter, its capacity will increase (er>1). Electronic measurements of this capacity are compared with the initial values and recorded using calibration processes.

Measurements are made in 4 ranges: Characteristics:
4th sensitivity range: 0.5 pF, relative = 1.5-2.0 Power supply voltage: 20-255 V AC/DC
3rd sensitivity range: 2.5 pF, εrelative = 2.0 – 4.0                                      Working environment temperature: -30 C ... + 220 C
2nd sensitivity range: 8.0 pF, εrelative = 4.0 – 7.0 Maximum pressure: 3 bar
1st sensitivity range: 18 pF, relative > 7.0 Degree of protection: IP67, ATEX approved

If it is necessary to identify the level of a powdery substance, the device must be installed so that the slope of the mounted sensor is greater than the angle of the natural slope (or, in the case of a high detection level, vertically) to prevent powder precipitation on the alarm in order to avoid false triggering.
